We're seeking on behalf of one of our clients. for an experienced Ethereum backend developer, proficient in deep blockchain protocols and Rust. What you'll do: Design high-performance systems optimized for low latency and scalability, with direct impact on the mainnet, contributing to a fairer and more efficient Ethereum network. Design and develop scalable backend services in Rust, focusing on ultra‑low latency and high throughput for Ethereum payload submission and block construction. Architect and implement builder-relay payload protocols (e.g. MEV‑Boost), enabling in‑slot timing optimization, censorship‑resistance, and ultra‑parallelized block generation. Optimize system performance through advanced Rust practices and low‑level orchestration. Influence critical protocol decisions and drive measurable mainnet improvements through your expertise. Responsibilities: Develop the block builder ordering and augmentation logic, from efficient algorithms for block building to seamless integration with relays. Implement high‑throughput Rust services that construct, simulate, and submit blocks at scale. Develop parallel block‑simulation infrastructure (revm/mev‑sim or custom) to rank thousands of bundles per slot. Partner with research teams to ship new economic models. Contribute upstream to client implementations (reth/geth/Lighthouse).

Strong understanding of Ethereum protocols, including PBS/MEV‑Boost flows, fork‑choice logic, slot/epoch timing, and relay security. Expertise in Rust (async, zero‑cost abstractions, performance tuning); familiarity with Go or C++ is a plus. Proficiency in Python for simulation, data analysis, and tooling. 10+ years of experience, at least 2 years in building on top of off-chain protocols. Experience with revm, reth/geth internals, or similar blockchain development tools Preferred Qualifications: Prior contributions to core Ethereum clients, EIPs, or open‑source MEV tooling. Hands‑on with Kubernetes, Docker, and bare‑metal performance tuning.
