Our company is a pioneering startup developing breakthrough electrochemical Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere. Our process is fully electric, solvent-free, and produces no hazardous waste — enabling carbon removal at gigaton scale.
We are now scaling up and seeking a Head of R&D to lead our multidisciplinary research team and drive the development of our core technology from lab to pilot and commercial systems.
The Head of R&D will be responsible for defining and executing the company’s R&D strategy, mentoring a team of scientists and engineers, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure successful productization. This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of a fast-growing ClimateTech company.
Reports to: CTO
Responsibilities
• Lead Company's electrochemical R&D strategy and roadmap
• Manage and mentor a high-performing R&D team
• Oversee design, testing, and validation of new electrochemical systems
and materials
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and manufacturing teams
• Engage with academic, regulatory, and investor stakeholders
• Stay current with research and trends in carbon capture and
electrochemistry
Job requirements
Job Requirements
Education:
• PhD in Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a
related field.
Experience:
• 10+ years in electrochemical or CO₂/energy technologies
• At least 5 years of R&D leadership
• Proven track record in scaling lab prototypes to pilot/commercial
systems – required
• Experience with CO₂ capture, batteries, fuel cells, or electrolyzers –
advantage
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong leadership and team management
• Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results
